What makes the Graphite 5 different in use is the pre-heated tertiary air system. Air enters the fire chamber through jets in the unique heavy-duty cast iron rear back-plate, keeping the chamber consistently hotter than a standard stove. The result is exceptionally clean combustion and glass that stays clear even towards the end of the burn, which is unusual at this price point. The Graphite 5 also features a built-in 'Heat Conveyor' system that moves radiated heat around the room more quickly, effectively delivering more of the stove's output into the space.

The stove's bodywork uses thicker-than-average steel, 10mm on the lid, and the door and tertiary air back-plate are cast iron for longer-term durability. Air controls are precise and offer a wider range of adjustment than most comparable stoves. Direct external air capability is available as an option.
